How to Ask Claude About Your Subscriptions and Expiring Documents

Connect Claude to Subs'n'Docs in a few clicks, then ask what expires next or tell it to add a subscription. What it sees, what it can change, how to turn it off.

Questions about your dates tend to come up in the middle of something else. Is the passport still good for that trip? How much do the subscriptions cost per year? Which card pays for the streaming service that just raised its price? Answering them means opening an app, filtering a list and adding things up.

Subs'n'Docs now works with Claude, so you can ask in plain words and get the answer in the chat. It is in Claude's connector directory, and connecting takes a few minutes.

What you can ask

Claude reads your own records (subscriptions, documents, deadlines and cards) and answers from them. For example:

  • What expires in the next three months?
  • Which subscriptions are paid with my Visa ending 4821?
  • How much do my subscriptions cost per year?
  • What is charged next week?

If you allow it, you can also tell Claude to make changes:

  • Add Spotify, 11.99 euro a month, charged on the 5th.
  • I renewed my licence, it is valid until 12 May 2036.
  • Mark my gym membership as paid.

When a price, a currency or a date is missing, Claude asks instead of guessing.

What you need

  • A Subs'n'Docs account. It is free, and connecting Claude is included in every plan. If you do not have one yet, sign up with your email on the home page.
  • A Claude account on a plan that can add connectors.

How to connect

  1. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and search for Subs'n'Docs. You can also open its page in the directory. Press Connect.
  2. Sign in to Subs'n'Docs. Enter your email, open the link we send you, and you come back to a page that shows what the connection can do.
  3. Choose the permission (see the next section) and press Allow.
  4. In a chat, open the connectors menu and turn Subs'n'Docs on. Then ask your first question.

You choose: read only, or read and change

On the consent page there is one checkbox: "Also allow it to add records and make the changes you ask for".

  • Left off (the default): Claude can only read. It cannot add or change anything.
  • Ticked: Claude can add a subscription, a document or a deadline, renew a document and mark a subscription paid.

Whichever you pick, Claude can never delete or cancel anything. The connector has no such action, so no request can make it do that. To change your mind, disconnect in Settings, connect again and tick or untick the box.

What Claude can and cannot see

Claude sees names, dates, prices, currencies, categories and the card a subscription is paid with (network and last four digits). It never sees your notes, links, storage places, your email address or full card numbers. A document is only a short label and an expiry date, never a number or a scan.

What Claude reads is sent to Claude and handled by Anthropic under its own terms. Subs'n'Docs stores only the connection itself: its name, what it may do, when it was approved and last used. The Privacy Policy has the details.

You may see a notice about community connectors

For a connector that Anthropic has not reviewed in depth, Claude shows a notice that it is a community connector and that you should connect only developers you trust. That applies to Subs'n'Docs too. It passed the directory's automated checks, it can do only what is listed in the setup guide, and you stay in control of the permission. If you are unsure, connect read only first and see what it shows.

How to turn it off

Open Settings in Subs'n'Docs, then AI assistants, and press Disconnect. Access stops at once. You can also remove the connector inside Claude.

A small routine that works

Once a month, ask: "What expires or is charged in the next 60 days?" It takes ten seconds, and it catches the date you would otherwise find out about from a charge or a closed border. Reminders by email and Telegram still arrive on their own; the assistant is for the questions in between.
